Fun at Ivy House

Just played a live a set at Vanishing Point @ The Ivy House [Nunhead, SE London]. Super little venue with a theatrical stage, enthusiastic audience, and a really well managed event – thanks to Neil March and Hugh the sound engineer. My first time at Ivy House, but I think I’ll be going back in the New Year 🙂

Invited to contribute a track to Nonclassical “Outside the Lines” compilation.

I’ve been invited to contribute a track to the next Nonclassical “Outside the Lines” compilation, due for release around 18th November. ‘Mountains at Night’ uses extracts from the eponymous poem written by the Nobel prize winning poet, novelist, and painter, Hermann Hesse (1911).

I tried to capture something of the massive dark looming presence one experiences in the mountains at night, by creating a super-low drone with 5-string electric violin, punctuated by deep staccato bow strikes and down-pitched vocals.

Update

It’s a little quiet here on the gig front. Next one isn’t until November, so I’m taking the opportunity to work on my 3rd album, which may actually turn out to be a film! I captured Rosalie Pearce Bell dancing in the Bargehouse, using a professional Canon XF305 camera. Result = stunning footage of a powerful beautiful dancer. I’m very excited, but there’s a lot of work ahead to bring this idea to completion.
